In 1985, I left High School early, took the Spring, Summer and Fall off then left for USN Bootcamp in San Diego.

After the death of two very close friends in 1993 I took a buyout and left the USN after 8 years.

And unlike tourists, I wasn't buying hotel, flights most of the time, or excursions — the Navy footed the bill.
Beyond money: I gained global experience, cultural immersion, resilience, and stories most business leaders pay big to replicate.
